Today we are excited to welcome Brian Karimi-Pashaki as Pinwheel’s Partnerships Lead!
Brian will focus on expanding Pinwheel’s network of key partners who share in the company’s mission of creating a fairer financial system.
Brian has more than a decade of hybrid experience across the enterprise SaaS and financial services industries. Most recently, Brian was Head of Technology Partnerships for Google-backed no-code software development platform Unqork. There, he launched the Unqork Marketplace and created and executed its channel growth strategy through partnerships with companies such as MongoDB, DocuSign, AWS, and Twilio. Prior to Unqork, Brian spent over five years at Goldman Sachs fostering key relationships with companies including Experian, Plaid, and Google. He played a critical role in several of Goldman Sachs’ priority business initiatives including the acquisition of Clarity Money, later used as the foundational mobile product for Marcus by Goldman Sach, and in the launch of Apple Card.
As a former member of Goldman Sachs’ LGBTQ Affinity Group and a founder of Unqork’s LGBTQ Affinity Group, Brian is an active leader and mentor in the community.
In his new role, Brian will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s partner strategy, growing the number of customers leveraging Pinwheel’s API, and advocating on behalf of consumers by ensuring they have a seat at the table in partnerships with payroll providers and gig economy platforms. Pinwheel is rapidly expanding and currently powers connections to over 1,600 platforms (covering 80% of US workers), over 20 time & attendance (T&A) platforms (covering 25M US workers), and over 1.5 million employers.
“In order for our customers to build the next generation of financial products, they depend on complete, reliable, and continued access to income and employment data. This is only made possible through a robust network of payroll providers and gig economy platforms,” said Karimi-Pashaki. “It’s my responsibility to ensure Pinwheel is established as the go-to thought partner for data accessibility as we all work together to create a fairer financial system for consumers.”
“Consumer-permissioned income and employment data is an indispensable part of any innovative financial services company’s tech stack,” said Kurtis Lin, co-founder and CEO. “It’s critical that we ensure our customers have access to comprehensive income and employment data powered by what will be the industry’s most robust network of partners. Brian will be instrumental in this next phase of growth and I look forward to both expanding our channel of partners and moving the future of the fintech ecosystem forward.”
